The Most Beneficial Lawn Care Tips For Cold Seasons

Keeping your lawn watered often will ensure that it stays healthy. The act of watering your lawn should never be forgotten. If you must, keeping a schedule can help assist your watering efforts. It’s not good enough to dash some water out on the lawn and forget about it for weeks.

Lawn care with proper watering will lead to a healthy turf that is rooted deeply. The different grasses will require different amounts of water and this would depend on what you have planted on your lawn. For bluegrass, you will usually need about 2.25 inches of water every week during summer for lawn care. However, it will require less when there is rain or when the weather is cloudy.

Some strains of blue grass and buffalo grass can go for long periods of time without much water. This means that if you are starting a new lawn you will have to consider your climate and the type of grass you want to use.

You should never just water your lawn with a sprinkle here and there and then forget about it. You will need to give it a lot of water to ensure that the roots get all the water they can take. The ideal situation is to drench your lawn with water once a week. This will save you time for other types of lawn care activities.

The type of soil will also play a certain role in here. If the soil is sandy, then you may water it for about half an inch. For loam, you have to water it a bit deeper so that it will be absorbed properly.

So now you know that watering your lawn in the summer will depend on the type of grass and soil that you are using. And you will have to take the season in to account. Again, when it is raining, you will need to water less often. If possible you should water the grass in the morning or at night so that it doesn’t burn during the day. And during these times of day the humidity will play a factor in to the water saturation.
