Economy Grade Grass Carpet For Outdoor Use

At one time outdoor carpeting was one color green, but this is no longer true. In fact grass carpet comes in a large variety of colors and grades from the economic to high grade grass carpet. Choosing the right economy grade grass carpet is easy if you keep the following guidelines in mind.

The grass grade is the least expensive of the outdoor carpets. It is easy to maintain and generally lasts for several years. It is best suited for patio’s decks, pools and other areas fully exposed to the weather. Many southern home owners use this type of carpet a lot because it can withstand the hot dry climate.

When purchasing outdoor carpet, it best to buy one that is made with olefin. This carpet is moisture, stain and fade resistant. Before you purchase any type of outdoor carpeting there are a few things to consider they are; activity levels, placement and moisture levels. This will help determine what specifics your carpet will need.

When deciding between economy grade grass and high grade grass carpet you first need to decide where the carpet will be placed. If placed by a pool it needs to be able to withstand pool chemicals and if it is placed in direct sun it needs to be specially treated to prevent fading from harmful UV rays.

If your economy grade grass will be exposed to moisture you will need a carpet with a marine backing. This allows for moisture to drain off and fewer chances of mold and mildew build up. When considering this factor remember moisture can be caused from rain and humidity.

If your carpet will be placed in high traffic areas or areas where children will be playing then you need a thicker higher grade of carpet. The thickness will make it more durable and it will be softer to walk on.

When choosing outdoor carpet compare the thickness and the backing of the carpet. Usually the thicker the carpet the longer it will last. You will find the thicker carpets with the marine backing in the High grades grass carpets.

Be sure to compare brands and store pricing. Don’t buy carpeting just because of the brand. The last consideration should be what you plan to use the carpet for. Combining all of these factors will help you properly decide on which economy grade grass to choose.
